Are you thinking about the steps 📈you can take towards your goals or all the different ways that you can fail📉? How often do you feel hungry 🤤? Do you have enough veggies 🍅🥗🍆🥦🥒🥕on your plate 🤔? A lot of the time when people try to eat healthily they don’t get enough veggies on their plate. Having enough veggies is vital for a sustainable healthy diet because: 1️⃣You need 5-6 serves vegetables daily to meet your nutrient requirements for the day (ie recommended dietary intake or adequate intake of vitamins and minerals) 2️⃣Non-starchy vegetables are low in energy (kilojoules/calories) 3️⃣They contain lots of water 💦and fibre to keep you full😬 and satiated! Meaning you will have less sometimes foods and less grains and meat/alternatives that we usually overeat. Keep your plate 🍽to 1/2 n

💡What are the Benefits of Weight Loss for those Above a Healthy Weight?

Sometimes we just need to sit down and think about why we do what we do or even highlight🖍 📖the obvious. Weight loss reduces risks of heart disease❤️, diabetes progression📉, is associated with improvements in kidney disease🚶🏻‍♂️, sleep apnoea😴, may improve symptoms of musculoskeletal problems🙆‍♀️(eg. back pain, osteoarthritis) , reflux 🤢and urinary incontinence🚽. For the last point on improving quality of life, self-esteem and depression we have to be careful that our weight loss approach is not causing mental distress, that it is sustainable, the individual’s thoughts and preferences are incorporated and the individual feels happy and comfortable with the plan.
